The Group's founders actually met years before it was founded, in the United States Marine Corps. While serving in the Corps together, they developed not only the strong bond of trust that typifies a combat unit, but the effective tactical and psychological insights which must be forged in life-or-death situations. That knowledge proved equally useful to them – as individuals – following their return to civilian life. The Bison Group was born from their desire to share the strategic lessons learned with others; a mission which continues today.

“We’ve come to understand that leadership across organizations and governments know the magnitude of the challenges they face. They are looking for successful execution that in turn, requires foresight. In the rapidly changing marketplace, organizations are finding it more and more difficult to distinguish the important long-term trends than ever before. They need competent advisory teams that offer significant levels of courage who will not only help to direct the path to navigate organizational politics, but also to help to improve global enterprise – even it means learning to synthesize contradictory perspectives from multiple places.
Our own mission has taught us similar lessons, and for that reason, have positioned us to serve the senior agenda at the world’s major institutions, whether they are businesses, governments, educational institutions, or not-for-profit and faith-based organizations. We maintain no head office; instead, Bison is creating an organization where people can create advantage for clients and set their own destiny wherever the work calls them.
